This one bloomed almost as soon as I put it in the ground. The scapes are still small but the flower is big and will continue to get bigger each year.
Exactly the color I expected

What is your hardiness zone? Zone 6
Arma, KS – This one handles the Midwestern conditions well. Its light, bright color really stands out. I like the sweet, faint smell of the flowers. This one along with Chicago Ruby, Lady Scarlet, and Early bird Cardinal are the best day lilies that I’ve acquired from Oakes to date. This one is a must for any gardener!

I have purchased Sparkling Orange several times over the past three years. I always ask for it as my bonus plant. I love this plant and would say I now have probably 60 or more of them scattered throughout my daylily beds. I love the color (an orangey-gold), the very large bloom size and the vigor of the plant itself. This to me is the perfect daylily for anyone who loves large flowers, showy color and size! Sparkling Orange produces tons of flowers and they are show-stoppers. This plant compliments and competes well with oranges, golds, coral, yellow or anything bright and showy. It also contrasts well with natural rock, pavers, stone walls and wood fencing which I also have in my yard. As you can tell, I’m a real fan! I like my garden big & bold and want every flower to count. If you want an in your face kind of wow, then this plant is for you!

Johnson City, TN –
My husband walked by this one and said, “What is THAT? It’s GORGEOUS!” about a week later he looked at a Sparkling Orange bloom again and said, “It’s a showstopper!!” This was a gift lily in the order I picked up at last year’s festival. Thank you Oakes! It is so beautiful! MUCH prettier than the picture.

I recieved this as a bonus plant with my order. It is so much prettier than the picture shows. It bloomed within 3 weeks of being planted. We have had a very windy spring and it looks great. Very much suggest this for its impressive bloom. miles city, montana zone 3.

I purchased Sparkling Orange in 2008 and this is the first year for it to bloom. It is a yellow-orange in my garden and the bloom so large and perfect, it looks almost like it’s artificial. The blooms just keep on coming. We do water them about once a week with a little liquid fertilizer. It might not be necessary to add the fertilizer but can’t hurt, and they sure do really well. I sure do recommend this one…beautiful large blooms and lots of them at a price most everyone can afford.

This is my next best bloomer, after Happy Returns. The plant is full of blooms every day for about a month. The flowers show up well from a distance.

Here in Ohio, summer often means wind and heavy downpours of rain. Many daylilies are damaged by either or both, but not Sparkling Orange! This wonderful daylily, pure in color and standing on strong stems, isn’t even fazed! Looks fabulous from first morning light until the last bit of twilight. I’ve put it in several places in my yard and it never fails to delight! A prolific bloomer, too!
