5 1/2" bloom, 28" tall, Mid Season + rebloom, Dormant
If we had to name a collective favorite at Oakes Daylilies, 'Big Kiss' daylily is the one we'd mention. In fact, we call it "The GOAT" because we consider it to be, quite literally, the "Greatest of All Time." Why? It's a fantastic producer, a good rebloomer and is just flat-out beautiful. Big, 5 1/2" fluffy double blooms are a gorgeous blend of creamy light pink with a darker pink center. Nicely shaped on sturdy scapes that reach around 28" in our East Tennessee garden. Good rebloom means we get to see these beautiful blooms off and on throughout the season. It doesn't get much better than 'Big Kiss.'
Although listed as dormant, this variety has been proven to successfully grow in zones 3-10

A mid-season bloomer, we first begin to see the fluffy blooms of Big Kiss around mid June. If you live to our north, you’ll likely see it a few weeks after we do. If you live to our south, you’ll get to see it a couple of weeks before us.

WHAT DAYLILIES CAN I GROW: Most of you can grow any of the daylilies we sell. If you live in an area with a sustained cold period like we do in East Tennessee, you can grow all the varieties. However, If you live in an area that doesn’t get freezing weather in the winter (like zones 9 and 10), dormant varieties won’t work for you; you’ll need to choose evergreen or semi-evergreen varieties.
BIG PLANTS! When it comes to daylily plants, bigger is better! All of the plants we ship will be three fans or larger — two or three times (or more) what you might receive from other companies. Larger plants get established faster and bloom more quickly!
FARM-FRESH TO YOU! All of your plants will be freshly dug when you order. The leaves are trimmed and the plants are washed and air-dried. Your daylilies will be out of the ground less than 48 hours before they’re headed your way.
BONUS DAYLILIES: We send free daylilies (we call them “bonus” daylilies) with every order. These daylilies are equal to about 20% of your order, you get to choose what you’d like at checkout.

We are known in the industry as Daylily Experts and grow over 1000 varieties of daylilies on nearly 70 acres in East Tennessee. But over 50 years ago, we started just like you—with one daylily in a home garden.

The first year it did not bloom. This is the second year and so far, the blooms have all been single! I’m still hoping for the double blooms that are shown in all of the photos.

I’ve had Big Kiss for several years. I didn’t buy it from Oakes, but it is a big, beautiful consistently double bloom. I wish the bud count was higher because the blooms are gorgeous. I still enjoy it a lot though, and it blooms later than most so I get to enjoy it after a lot of others are already finished blooming. I am in southwest Ohio in zone 6.

Your Big Kiss is on my list…of favorite daylilies. I’m in Northeast Alabama, zone 7 and this one performs well with gorgeous blooms. I love the color combination and the fluffy bloom. Big Kiss is a delight and everyone stops to admire her beauty. I have divided the one I bought, and they both are doing great. First thing I do when the sun rises is run out the door to see what is blooming and hoping for at least one Big Kiss. You will not be disappointed with this one.

My neighbor shared this Day Lily with me and it bloomed within a few weeks of being planted, even after being transplanted! I love the big double blooms. I can’t wait until it spreads and really puts on a show.

I am very grateful to the deer that decided to leave behind one scape on this new plant. (I planted it in the fall of 2020.) This daylily bloomed for the first time today (zone 7a) and it is beautiful. It is just a fluffy pink and peach cloud of beauty. I can’t wait to see this daylily multiply over time.

I bought this daylily in 2017, it FINALLY bloomed this year, 2019. I was shocked! It is the most amazing flower I could have ever imagined. I am showing it’s picture to everyone who stands still long enough! You won’t be sorry with this one!

We love Big Kiss. Yes, it is expensive, but it is the most amazingly beautiful day lily — and it blooms for us every summer throughout July. Like clouds or cotton candy, it is a magical flower. Highly recommended!

I can’t believe this only has 5 star reviews from others. I planted this 4 summers ago, and it still never produces more than 1 stem with maybe 3 blooms. It’s in a prime spot in my yard. The Dewy Sweets planted at the same time next to Big Kiss, had over 80 blooms per plant this year. Big Kiss wasn’t worth the price tag at all.

We are really enjoying this big “in your face” bloom. In its second year in our garden, it has blooms at 48″. We will be moving it in the fall since it seems to want to be much taller than the predicted 28″ here and my original placement is not going to work well. I had Big Kiss on my wish list but finally gave in and am so glad I did. If you love peach and doubles, you can’t go wrong with this one.

Worth every cent. A big fluff-ball of light apricot cotton candy with a darker center. I am ordering another “Big Kiss” and another “Infinity” and placing them together…the combo should be spectacular. I had a nice performance the first year from the largest portion I planted (Oakes sends such large clumps that I always split them…such a cost saver!).

Big Kiss is a consistantly reliable double. It is a wonderful color contrast with the peachy self and pink center. But its real claim to fame is its ability to increase. Mine is huge this spring and will need to be divided AGAIN!

Consider this one investment gardening — well worth the price for its fabulous blooms alone, not to mention the fact that it multiplies well. Recommend planting this and other special daylilies in tall pots for a better vantage point.

Oh my this one is my new favorite so far. It blooms continually and I just planted it!! It blooms consistantly double too, and is just so lovely to look at. It really catches your eye from across the yard. It’s a keeper! And the color’s are so beautiful, with the pale pink and the darker eye, outstanding!!
