Ida Miles Daylily Features:
‘Ida Miles’ daylily is an old-fashioned classic daylily and one of our most fragrant. Huge, 6 1/2″ soft yellow blooms have wide petals and a faint midrib. Scapes reach around 30″ tall in our garden. One of the latest to bloom in our garden and a beautiful way to extend daylily season. A lovely fragrance accompanies this bloom, adding a little something extra to the late summer garden.
A late season bloomer, we typically first see Ida Miles in our East Tennessee garden around the first of July. If you are to our north, you’ll see it a couple of weeks after we do. If you are to our south, you’ll usually see it a few weeks before us. We think of this variety as an excellent choice to extend daylily season. Plus, its heady fragrance adds an unexpected touch to the garden.
Ida Miles is a dormant daylily which means it is best grown in gardens that receive a sustained winter cold period, like those in zones 8 and lower.
We love the refreshing air the pale yellow blooms of Ida Miles brings to the garden. It looks fantastic when paired with bright yellow or near white and extremely moody when planted with dark purple. Gorgeous no matter what you plant it with!

WHAT DAYLILIES CAN I GROW: Most of you can grow any of the daylilies we sell. If you live in an area with a sustained cold period like we do in East Tennessee, you can grow all the varieties. However, If you live in an area that doesn’t get freezing weather in the winter (like zones 9 and 10), dormant varieties won’t work for you; you’ll need to choose evergreen or semi-evergreen varieties.
BIG PLANTS! When it comes to daylily plants, bigger is better! All of the plants we ship will be three fans or larger — two or three times (or more) what you might receive from other companies. Larger plants get established faster and bloom more quickly!
FARM-FRESH TO YOU! All of your plants will be freshly dug when you order. The leaves are trimmed and the plants are washed and air-dried. Your daylilies will be out of the ground less than 48 hours before they’re headed your way.
BONUS DAYLILIES: We send free daylilies (we call them “bonus” daylilies) with every order. These daylilies are equal to about 20% of your order, you get to choose what you’d like at checkout.
