We order 8 varieties from Oakes several years ago and this is my favorite. Tons of blooms and beautiful coloring. Contrast between sepals and petals is more pronounced in my garden than in the picture.

Update to my May 17th review

Prairie Blossom has been in continuous bloom since mid May. It had almost finished blooming this month when all clumps sent up multiple new scapes! I don’t know if others have experienced this but it’s one excellent performer. Also, this year has been really bad with leaf streak fungal disease (long cool, wet spring that continued into early June). While most plants around it were affected, Prairie Blossom was only very lightly effected and seemed to shake it off quickly once hot weather arrived.

This is the 2nd year in my garden and what a display! The clumps are loaded with scape and every scape has excellent branching and bud count. The colors are beautiful. Fan production was good this spring. I couldn’t be happier with ‘Prairie Blossoms’.

I purchased this little daylily kind of late in the season last year so it didn’t do much at all. Out of all my many varieties and many nights where we are still getting frost this little guy is blooming this morning. None of my other varieties even have scapes yet. Apparently cold April weather doesn’t bother this one. Love the color and the petite flower. Beautiful

I’m SOO impressed with this little guy. I had planted all my lilies in late April and we soon had an unexpected late freeze. This one looked frail and vulnerable. I wasn’t sure it would make it through the summer. But, even with only 2 small leaves of foliage, this little guy still put up 2 scapes of blooms. Hopefully will grow more robustly next season, but I would recommend this hardy plant to anyone.

This beautiful little gem first bloomed today. We are 11″ behind in rainfall for this year and it is only 16″ tall. I love it still. The color of mine isn’t as vibrant as your picture, but I still think it’s very delightful.

This was the first year for this beauty in our garden. The first four or five blooms were very disappointing, splotchy and disfigured. Then we were delighted to see all the remaining blossoms were stunning. This bi-color was an eye-catcher and the petal’s color seemed to deepen as they aged. Extremely glad that this variety was added to the garden. Definitely looking forward to splitting this one up and spreading this beauty around.

THe flowers are small, but breath-taking. I had 5 buds open at once the first year and they are amazing. I can’t wait for it to grow so I can divide it. Of the 2 dozen varieties I have, this is my favorite even though the flowers are small.

Profuse bloomer with lovely, dainty little flowers! I did not expect to like Prairie Blossoms as much as I do…it was the first daylily to bloom this year and definitely packed a punch!

It is early in the season, but I am very disappointed in this lily. Mine is very washed out and the shape is totally different. It is very small, almost like a mini, and doesn’t have the 3 rounded, frilly edges like this picture at all. Perhaps I was sent the wrong lily. At any rate, I hope it improves with age.

Prairie Blossoms is an amazing performer in my garden. It’s planted in full sun at the base of a stone wall and from the time leaves emerge in the Spring, til late in the Fall, Prairie Blossoms is covered with blooms. Since it is a dormant daylily, it’s always a wonderful surprise to see the buds emerging with the leaves. Great plant! Highly recommended for Southern California gardens.

This past summer was my first season with this one. It bloomed and was definitely a very pretty flower but the colors were not as bright nor as well defined as it seems in the picture. It’s still a very nice addition to my garden but not quite the impact I was expecting.

Fairly profuse blooms during early season, but not much of a rebloomer in my garden. Color is very nice. Mine don’t get to 25″ tall, only about 20″.

I love this daylilly! The colors on mine are a deep rose and rich apricot, and the number of blooms is fantastic! I buy all my daylillies from Oakes, and am never disappointed. The clumps are so large when they arrive that I usually gift one or 2 to my neighbor!

The blooms on this daylily were beautiful, but, like the other rebloomers I planted this year, it didn’t! It has been unseasonably mild this fall, but still nothing is forthcoming. Ah, well! maybe next year?

Bought this one new this year and already in bloom. The quality of plants received from Oakes cannot compare to any other nursery and Prairie Blossoms was no exception. Large fans were planted and beautiful flowers emurged, true to their name and description.

This daylily didn’t look like it’s picture at all. The color was very washed out, and more buff than peach. I only recieved it last year and am hoping it gets better with age.

Better than a 10. A real attention getter with strong vivd coloring. The photo doesn’t do it justice. I highly recommend this one.
