A mix of daylilies for Southern Growers. These are some beautiful varieties, but unfortunately they haven’t grown well at our nursery in east Tennessee. They should do great for those of you in warmer areas (zones 8 and warmer). Available while supplies last.
Note: Unlike all the other daylilies we grow, we will not guarantee these. They should do great when grown in the proper zones, but these are not covered by our usual guarantee.
Where this mix came from –
We are always on the lookout for new varieties to add to our offerings, so 10 years ago we took a buying trip to central Florida, which happens to be where many of the premier daylily hybridizers in the world have their gardens, and we bought some exciting new varieties. Unfortunately, many of them didn’t grow well in our Tennessee garden.
Normally, we just toss varieties that don’t grow well, but we had quite a few of these so we decided to put the survivors in a Southern Mix. These are some beautiful varieties, you’ll see some of the possible varieties included in the pictures, but obviously we can’t guarantee what you’ll get.
These are only suitable for growers in the warmest areas (zones 8 and warmer).

WHAT DAYLILIES CAN I GROW: Most of you can grow any of the daylilies we sell. If you live in an area with a sustained cold period like we do in East Tennessee, you can grow all the varieties. However, If you live in an area that doesn’t get freezing weather in the winter (like zones 9 and 10), dormant varieties won’t work for you; you’ll need to choose evergreen or semi-evergreen varieties.
BIG PLANTS! When it comes to daylily plants, bigger is better! All of the plants we ship will be three fans or larger — two or three times (or more) what you might receive from other companies. Larger plants get established faster and bloom more quickly!
FARM-FRESH TO YOU! All of your plants will be freshly dug when you order. The leaves are trimmed and the plants are washed and air-dried. Your daylilies will be out of the ground less than 48 hours before they’re headed your way.
BONUS DAYLILIES: We send free daylilies (we call them “bonus” daylilies) with every order. These daylilies are equal to about 20% of your order, you get to choose what you’d like at checkout.
