Grape purple blooms with a darker purple halo around a yellow throat. The only purple we know of with really good carrying power – it shows up well across the garden.
What a beautiful purple daylily this is! What’s really nice about Dream Blue is that, while every bloom is generally the same purple color, the shape of each bloom varies from one bloom to the other (at least in my garden anyway:) Some blooms will look like the Oakes photo above, (open and flat), and others like my Dream Blue photo below, (rounded and recurved a bit) – so I am constantly amazed and surprised each day by Dream Blue!
Planted Dream Blue last spring (divided it into 3 plants) and it it blooming beautifully. This lily is highly recommended! I also planted Beryl Stone that is a gorgeous deep red and has had many blooms and has buds still. My Highland Cranberry has been a bit of a disappointment; it only had a few blooms and has already stopped blooming 🙁
My first bloom opened this morning and it is beautiful. Every time a different color opens I think that is my favorite. Mine is a true looking purple. Love it.
I have to say, this one amazes me! The leaves aren’t even totally grown up and out and as I just planted this one just about one month ago or so, and it is already blooming up a storm! It’s not blue, but true blues in nature are rare anyways, it’s a gorgeous purple color with a bright yellow eye. So far it’s not too tall for me either. Seems to be a great one!
This plant is a unigue color that is very pleasing to the eye. I have it side by side with Wayside King Royale. The flower is lighter and prettier than pictured. Another keeper for years to come.
I ordered this daylily earlier this year. I planted it the middle of May and a month later it made its first scape. It now has 3 scapes and I have already seen 3 blooms on the one scape. The plant is still small, so I couldn’t believe that the flowers reached their given size. The color of my blooms are more a plum purple. This is a beautiful daylily. Judging by its performance, I can just imagine how it will perform next year. I am very glad I bought this one.
Large blooms, gorgeous color. You are right. I can see it from one end of the yard to the other. I never step out the back door without looking for it.

It’s pretty simple: most of you can grow any of the daylilies we sell. If you live in an area with a sustained cold period like we do in East Tennessee, you can grow all the varieties. However, If you live in an area that doesn’t get freezing weather in the winter, dormant varieties won’t work for you; you need to choose evergreen or semi-evergreen varieties.
We normally include bonus plants equal to about 20% of your order. And these aren’t “leftover” plants, or “whatever we’ve got lying around.” These are the same huge, healthy plants we sell. Just leave the decision up to us— we’ll pick something we know you’ll love!

First year in our garden, and, of course, do not know just how prolific it will bloom, but the color is just as described. As true show-stopper.

I received this as a bonus. It is stunningly beautiful. Its height is just right and absolutely gorgeous! One of my all time favorites.
