5″ bloom, 36″ tall, Mid Season + rebloom, Dormant
‘Chloe’ daylily stands the test of time. Considered to be a classic “old-fashioned” daylily, beautiful Chloe is a bicolor: it has magenta/purple petals and creamy yellow sepals. Due to the fact that it’s a spider-type daylily, this coloration is easy to see across the garden. Just beautiful! Chloe puts out lots of blooms and makes a great display in the garden— whether as a single speciman or when planted en masse. A nice rebloomer, as well.

WHAT DAYLILIES CAN I GROW: Most of you can grow any of the daylilies we sell. If you live in an area with a sustained cold period like we do in East Tennessee, you can grow all the varieties. However, If you live in an area that doesn’t get freezing weather in the winter (like zones 9 and 10), dormant varieties won’t work for you; you’ll need to choose evergreen or semi-evergreen varieties.
BIG PLANTS! When it comes to daylily plants, bigger is better! All of the plants we ship will be three fans or larger — two or three times (or more) what you might receive from other companies. Larger plants get established faster and bloom more quickly!
FARM-FRESH TO YOU! All of your plants will be freshly dug when you order. The leaves are trimmed and the plants are washed and air-dried. Your daylilies will be out of the ground less than 48 hours before they’re headed your way.
BONUS DAYLILIES: We send free daylilies (we call them “bonus” daylilies) with every order. These daylilies are equal to about 20% of your order, you get to choose what you’d like at checkout.
ABOUT US: Oakes Daylilies is a family-owned daylily farm that’s been in business for three generations. Our daylilies grow in home gardens, city parks and botanical gardens across the nation– including Hawaii and Canada. We are known in the industry as Daylily Experts and grow over 1000 varieties of daylilies on nearly 70 acres in East Tennessee. But over 50 years ago, we started just like you—with one daylily in a home garden.

I have had Chloe for a few years, and she gets more awesome each year. Even my husband comments on her beauty and how much she struts. I can’t imagine my garden without her. She holds up to rain, heat, and dry weather. A real winner.

I have this spectacular spider lily. I divided it last year when it only had 3 scapes to begin with. This year the original plant has 11 scapes and has been continuously blooming for over a week now. I love it.The new plant taken from it has 5 scapes and is also re-blooming daily. It is the tallest of all my lilies. I don’t know if it was our mild winter here in southern Illinois or what, but it’s doing great. The colors seem more vibrant this year too.

Chloe has been divided, moved and shared more times than I can count. Some years darker than others, fragrant at times, tall, always gets comments. Great spider and looks great with other daylilies.

This is the second year for me for this one, and I got it because it’s my grandaughter’s name, but it’s not a favorite. The color is kind of washed out. It does have lots of blooms, but I will probably replace this with one of my new ones that is more showy. The good thing about it is that it is really tall and the flowers stems are strong and not floppy, so if you want something for the back row of your garden, this would be good.
