One of our own introductions, we’ve been excited to share this one for a while. This raspberry rose blend with green throat and distinct white midribs is a beauty and a prolific bloomer. Always a crowd favorite in our display garden.
Carpenter’s Choice is on of my favorite dalilies! I love the raspberry color, the greenish/yellowish throat and white midribs really makes this daylily special. I get lots of beautiful blooms. You won’t be disappointed.
Even better than the picture online. planted mid season last year so this is my first time to bloom. First blooming year but plenty of scapes and next year should be better
I planted Carpenter’s Choice (six healthy and happy bulbs) in the spring, but didn’t see any blooms this year (despite excellent weather). I’ve experienced this with other bulbs from Oakes (e.g., Wild Horses and Chicago Apache), and in each case, the second year has been delightful. So I’m still waiting. But I thought some buyers might want to know that the first year may not be as quick to produce blooms as other varieties from Oakes (others I’ve planted have bloomed very quickly). Overall, however, I must applaud Oakes on the beauty, color, and variety of their daylilies. I have several varieties, all of which have been wonderful in my garden. Just be aware that some take longer to sprout stalks than others.
I bought very early this year, around March…well, in July I have these smaller buds that opened into such beautiful bright flowers. I can’t wait till next year when the plant is larger. The color is hypnotic, such a pretty hot pink rose with white lines and yellow center. You keep looking at it.
Love this daylily. I live in Long Island zone 7. I just got it this April 2020 and it bloomed this July 2020. It had 2 scapes and a lot of blooms for its first year. The light purple with the yellow throat and white midribs are so pretty together. It really stands out. I can’t wait for next year!
These are the most beautiful pink daylilies I own! They are an amazing hot/deep pink that stand up well to the summer sun. In the first year I had many blooms. They complimented every lily color I have. I can’t wait to buy more of these!! I live right in the middle of zone 7b/8a.
Carpenter’s Choice is new to my garden and has just started to bloom – it’s so pretty – I love it! I don’t see it mentioned that this is a fragrant daylily – but it is…Carpenter’s Choice has a fragrance reminiscent of Hyperion. A sweet surprise!

It’s pretty simple: most of you can grow any of the daylilies we sell. If you live in an area with a sustained cold period like we do in East Tennessee, you can grow all the varieties. However, If you live in an area that doesn’t get freezing weather in the winter, dormant varieties won’t work for you; you need to choose evergreen or semi-evergreen varieties.
We normally include bonus plants equal to about 20% of your order. And these aren’t “leftover” plants, or “whatever we’ve got lying around.” These are the same huge, healthy plants we sell. Just leave the decision up to us— we’ll pick something we know you’ll love!
Daylily Stickers!
After the year we’ve all had, we’re trying to wring whatever joy we can find out of every day— even Tax Day*. So we put our thinking caps on and thought, “What is silly and fun and makes everyone happy?”.
That’s when it hit us: stickers! To make your day brighter, we are offering 13 stickers free with every order today through April 19!!!
Stick ’em on your water bottle, your cooler, your laptop (even your wheelbarrow!) or wherever else you could use a bit of cheery color.
*We know that Tax Day has officially been moved to May 17. Since today is traditionally Tax Day, though, we’re going for it.

I planted this daylily in may and had flowers the entirety of July. Huge neon pink flowers. I can’t wait to see it next year.

Beautiful clean form in its first year of bloom. Even better is it’s high and wide branching which set it multiple blooms each day apart.
