I planted Carpenter’s Choice (six healthy and happy bulbs) in the spring, but didn’t see any blooms this year (despite excellent weather). I’ve experienced this with other bulbs from Oakes (e.g., Wild Horses and Chicago Apache), and in each case, the second year has been delightful. So I’m still waiting. But I thought some buyers might want to know that the first year may not be as quick to produce blooms as other varieties from Oakes (others I’ve planted have bloomed very quickly). Overall, however, I must applaud Oakes on the beauty, color, and variety of their daylilies. I have several varieties, all of which have been wonderful in my garden. Just be aware that some take longer to sprout stalks than others.

I bought very early this year, around March…well, in July I have these smaller buds that opened into such beautiful bright flowers. I can’t wait till next year when the plant is larger. The color is hypnotic, such a pretty hot pink rose with white lines and yellow center. You keep looking at it.

Love this daylily. I live in Long Island zone 7. I just got it this April 2020 and it bloomed this July 2020. It had 2 scapes and a lot of blooms for its first year. The light purple with the yellow throat and white midribs are so pretty together. It really stands out. I can’t wait for next year!

These are the most beautiful pink daylilies I own! They are an amazing hot/deep pink that stand up well to the summer sun. In the first year I had many blooms. They complimented every lily color I have. I can’t wait to buy more of these!! I live right in the middle of zone 7b/8a.

Carpenter’s Choice is new to my garden and has just started to bloom – it’s so pretty – I love it! I don’t see it mentioned that this is a fragrant daylily – but it is…Carpenter’s Choice has a fragrance reminiscent of Hyperion. A sweet surprise!
