To prove my point, I’m attaching a 2nd pic of Beautiful Edgings…it is a beautiful daylilly. 2nd year (5/2020-5/2/2022) and WOW it is a winner in my little garden.
I received and planted 3 of these 5/20. They bloomed last year (2021) but were getting their legs, I gues. Today I have the 1st blooms for 2022 and they are beautiful. Plants are large, strong and this one has several blooms scapes which will only to the beauty! I’m impressed with this one….
So pretty and even blooms where I have it planted in a shady area. I should move it to a spot with more sun so that it will spread faster. Mine was a lighter shade of yellow than some of the pics here, but really very pretty. Zone 3 Wisconsin
Another must have for every daylily garden, not only beautiful but blooms and blooms! Hot year here in Michigan last summer, I didn’t get them planted for several days, was so worried they wouldn’t survive but did and amazes me how beautiful she is every day!
I started a new perennial bed going on 4 years ago and Beautiful Edgings was one of my first choices based on the photos on the Oakes site. First year didn’t bloom as I planted late summer but last year we had an even amount of rain throughout the summer and Beautiful Edgings didn’t disappoint! Lots of buds per branch and the coloring is so lovely. Don’t wait to order it. Oakes removed it from their catalog for a few years. I was so happy to see it return to their site and catalog!

It’s pretty simple: most of you can grow any of the daylilies we sell. If you live in an area with a sustained cold period like we do in East Tennessee, you can grow all the varieties. However, If you live in an area that doesn’t get freezing weather in the winter, dormant varieties won’t work for you; you need to choose evergreen or semi-evergreen varieties.
We normally include bonus plants equal to about 20% of your order. And these aren’t “leftover” plants, or “whatever we’ve got lying around.” These are the same huge, healthy plants we sell. Just leave the decision up to us— we’ll pick something we know you’ll love!
Daylily Stickers!
After the year we’ve all had, we’re trying to wring whatever joy we can find out of every day— even Tax Day*. So we put our thinking caps on and thought, “What is silly and fun and makes everyone happy?”.
That’s when it hit us: stickers! To make your day brighter, we are offering 13 stickers free with every order today through April 19!!!
Stick ’em on your water bottle, your cooler, your laptop (even your wheelbarrow!) or wherever else you could use a bit of cheery color.
*We know that Tax Day has officially been moved to May 17. Since today is traditionally Tax Day, though, we’re going for it.

I planted these in the fall of last year, masses of huge beautiful blooms. The combination of white, yellow and pink are a stunner in my collection.

People have to stop off in my gardens to look at this one. It has beautiful ruffles and strong enough to touch and handle.
