  1. Kaleidoscope of iridescent color.

Living in Kearney Nebraska (zone 5a), I’m always looking for a way to extend the growing season. Aabachee does the trick. It has delicately outlined petals that change color throughout the day. While it is an old Victorian favorite , It can hold its own with any of my 43 other day lilies. Most of which I have gotten from Oakes daylilies because I know they’ll be beautiful and healthy.

I have had this daylily for several years, planted among tall spiders in a somewhat dappled area with morning sun only. It is a different color for me – the color is so deep there that its hard to call it red – its more of a reddish chocolate – and I adore it. Everyone notices it first thing of my hundreds of daylilies. Glad I finally figured it out because it has been a one scape daylily in that spot – and I love it just like it is – nestled among the “Easy Ned”. But I couldn’t identify it until today. I’ll be ordering more! Would give it a 10 if it would just be more prolific for me.
