Wilson Spider Daylily Features:
‘Wilson Spider’ daylily is one of our own introductions and has been recognized as one of the best. Huge, open blooms have a large yellow throat and deep purple petals. Stops visitors in their tracks during our Daylily Festival.
Large blooms are 7 1/2″ and make quite the impression on their 28″ tall scapes. A mid season bloomer, we typically see its first beautiful blooms around mid June here in our East Tennessee garden. If you are to our north, you’ll likely see it a few weeks after us. If you are to our south, you’ll see it a bit before us.
A dormant daylily, Wilson Spider is best grown in planting zones 3-8 as it needs a sustained cold period in the winter in order to be successful.
This beauty looks wonderful all on its own in the garden, but it is equally beautiful when paired with yellow or gold daylilies. Just gorgeous!

WHAT DAYLILIES CAN I GROW: Most of you can grow any of the daylilies we sell. If you live in an area with a sustained cold period like we do in East Tennessee, you can grow all the varieties. However, If you live in an area that doesn’t get freezing weather in the winter (like zones 9 and 10), dormant varieties won’t work for you; you’ll need to choose evergreen or semi-evergreen varieties.
BIG PLANTS! When it comes to daylily plants, bigger is better! All of the plants we ship will be three fans or larger — two or three times (or more) what you might receive from other companies. Larger plants get established faster and bloom more quickly!
FARM-FRESH TO YOU! All of your plants will be freshly dug when you order. The leaves are trimmed and the plants are washed and air-dried. Your daylilies will be out of the ground less than 48 hours before they’re headed your way.
BONUS DAYLILIES: We send free daylilies (we call them “bonus” daylilies) with every order. These daylilies are equal to about 20% of your order, you get to choose what you’d like at checkout.

It took three years for this daylily to hit top form in my CT garden, but now it is one of my favorites. They colors are intense with a great number of blooms. I really recommend this plant.

I must say I’m amazed at this beautiful daylily! It’s August 10th and this daylily is just starting to bloom,gardening in Wyoming is challenging but these Daylilies exceeded my expectations.

Worth every penny. This is not an enhanced photo; the bloom looks as stunning as shown here. It’s an amazing beauty that produced several scapes and numerous blooms this first year in my garden. I’ll never get rid of this to make room for a prettier daylily! They just don’t come more beautiful.

This is the 6th summer Wilson Spider has been in my garden. It has bloomed beautifully every summer, including the first summer after I received it from Oakes in April. It has increased and gotten more beautiful every summer with more and more buds. I divided it last fall, but you would never know it from how well it is blooming this summer.
