WHAT DAYLILIES CAN I GROW: Most of you can grow any of the daylilies we sell. If you live in an area with a sustained cold period like we do in East Tennessee, you can grow all the varieties. However, If you live in an area that doesn’t get freezing weather in the winter (like zones 9 and 10), dormant varieties won’t work for you; you’ll need to choose evergreen or semi-evergreen varieties.
BIG PLANTS! When it comes to daylily plants, bigger is better! All of the plants we ship will be three fans or larger — two or three times (or more) what you might receive from other companies. Larger plants get established faster and bloom more quickly!
FARM-FRESH TO YOU! All of your plants will be freshly dug when you order. The leaves are trimmed and the plants are washed and air-dried. Your daylilies will be out of the ground less than 48 hours before they’re headed your way.
BONUS DAYLILIES: We send free daylilies (we call them “bonus” daylilies) with every order. These daylilies are equal to about 20% of your order, you get to choose what you’d like at checkout.

This daylily has it all: outstanding color, great vigor, increases rapidly, and mine re-bloomed, though not listed as a rebloomer. It is a standout in the garden.

I got this plant years ago and we have moved a couple times and I always managed to bring my “SPIDERMAN” along with us. One reason is because it was a Birthday present from my husband. It is so full and has so many blooms and of course the beautiful RED color shows up so great in the garden. He has always been a show stopper at our homes.

Blooms heavily over a long period and the flowers are always beautiful – even if not in full sun. If you want a daylily that grabs the eye of every visitor or brings life to a spot in your garden, Spider Man is the answer.

I just received my order for this plant and I was amazed at what I got. Instead of one root, I got a clump of 5 LARGE roots. Can’t wait to see it grow and bloom!
It is now the spring after I ordered and my Spiderman is prolifically blooming such big beautiful red flowers. I love walking outside in the mornings to see how many new flowers came up. I placed it next to my Calico Spider and they look wonderful next to each other.

I have to totally agree that Spider Man deserves the Stout Medal!!!!!!!!!!! I placed him in an oak barrel for 10 yrs; moved him several times and finally tackled getting him free. So many plants!! Everyone of them bloomed this year and are happy to be free and in the ground, rocky as it may be. An outstanding plant for vigor, looks and an outrageous amount of buds. Can’t say enough.

I ordered Spiderman from you probably 5 to 6 years ago. I am presently growing around 700 different daylilies. I just have to tell you that out of all 700, that SPIDERMAN is my very favorite. Not only does it bloom profusely, and beautifully, but it has the prettiest blue-green foliage of all I grow. You just cannot go wrong with this daylily. I love SPIDERMAN. Barbara (Kitty) in Ky.

OK, this “Big Guy” deserves the Stout Medal. Don’t know what the Hocus Pocus or Magical Formula for the Award is; but, the plant deserves the Stout. Substance of growth, flower form and prduction is astounding. I’ve had this plant two years and shall be dividing it this Fall. Nothing less than the Stout would be acceptable. This is a “Garden Giant”. Be bold and add it to your list.

I ordered this awesome spider day lily to memorialize the early, tragic death of my beloved nephew (2-5-2002). Shon loved Spider Man as a youngster, and this seemed a fitting way to remember him: tall, vibrant and strong. This day lily has not only lived up to my highest expectations, it has also far exceeded them. In 2005, its third bloom season, it bloomed for a full two months and had hundreds of flowers, each its own miracle! Spider Man is flanked by a natural-colored clay birdbath and pink astilbe, which compliment it in an unusual but stunning way. A young redbud tree arcs overhead and a bench in the shade of a mature redbud, the path underfoot strewn with cedar bark mulch and the occasional columbine completes the restful picture. I simply could not be happier with this investment, which is one of several Oakes awe-inspirers to grace my rural yard. This year I will thin the bed and gift my sister (Shon’s mother) with some for her own lovely yard, to continue his memory there. Thank you more than words can say!

Incredible fire-engine red w/no other berry-off-tones. Perfect for a Patriotic Garden. Add a bit of high yellow plants to emphasize medals received by our current wartime heros.
