‘Royal Eventide’ daylily has stunning purple double blooms with a yellow throat and a white midrib. A good rebloomer, it is also a fantastic ambassador for our company. At our 2015 Daylily Festival, we met a family who loved ‘Royal Eventide’ so much in their Florida garden that they traveled all the way to Tennessee to see it in ours!

HOW TO GROW DAYLILIES: Daylilies are very easy-to-grow. They like a lot of sun and they like a lot of water. For more information on how to care for daylilies, click here.
WHAT DAYLILIES CAN I GROW: Most of you can grow any of the daylilies we sell. If you live in an area with a sustained cold period like we do in East Tennessee, you can grow all the varieties. However, If you live in an area that doesn’t get freezing weather in the winter (like zones 9 and 10), dormant varieties won’t work for you; you’ll need to choose evergreen or semi-evergreen varieties.

BIG PLANTS! When it comes to daylily plants, bigger is better! All of the plants we ship will be three fans or larger — two or three times (or more) what you might receive from other companies. Larger plants get established faster and bloom more quickly!

FARM-FRESH TO YOU! All of your plants will be freshly dug when you order. The leaves are trimmed and the plants are washed and air-dried. Your daylilies will be out of the ground less than 48 hours before they’re headed your way.

BONUS DAYLILIES: We send free daylilies (we call them “bonus” daylilies) with every order. These daylilies are equal to about 20% of your order, you get to choose what you’d like at checkout.

ABOUT US: Oakes Daylilies is a family-owned daylily farm that’s been in business for three generations. Our daylilies grow in home gardens, city parks and botanical gardens across the nation– including Hawaii and Canada. We are known in the industry as Daylily Experts and grow over 1000 varieties of daylilies on nearly 70 acres in East Tennessee. But over 50 years ago, we started just like you—with one daylily in a home garden.

  1. Royal Eventide

I was so happy to see that Royal Eventide was available once again this year. Not only because it is such a beautiful double purple daylily, but because when I ordered it from Oakes several years ago I made the mistake of planting it right next to another, very similar, double purple daylily – and then my tags got mixed up…(The daylily database was of no help in making an identification because the photos of the two were so similar). BUT now that I see these Oakes photos I can definitely see the difference in size, shape and color – and I can now get my tags in the right place:) I guess the one major hindrance in the identification process has been because Royal Eventide has never grown more than 22″ in my garden – short, just like its’ neighboring daylily. But still – oh so beautiful!

  2. My favorite

This is one of my all time favorite daylilies! I have several already and I just order 3 more to finish out a row. They are in full bloom here in north Louisiana in mid April! The color is so striking and holds good through the hottest temperatures. This one is a little pricy for me but worth it to get a start of such a beautiful plant with such beautiful flowers!

  3. Beautiful and dependable

I have six of these beautiful plants and they bloom in April here in Northern Louisiana. I have had them I my garden for about 5 years and just ordered 3 more to add to the row that I have them in. They bloom really well and are usually my first to bloom each spring. I highly recommend them.

When this beauty blooms, it gets more attention than any other. So far mine has not had as many blooms as others, else it would be a 10. And, I would like the scapes to be a bit taller. But, the gorgeous double purple blooms will win your admiration.
