  1. A cool dish of Cream Orange Sherbet

    scwoz (verified owner)

It looks just like a dish of cream sickle orange sherbert. The flowers are large and sturdy and stand up to the high heat and humidity. I love this daylily.

    Great rebloomer

    John Bales

This was the 2nd year for ‘Pure and Simple’ in my daylily bed. While a few other daylilies rebloomed now and then, ‘Pure and Simple’ was a reliable rebloomer throughout the summer. It continued to rebloom right up until September and was the last of the daylilies in that bed to bloom. Flowers are beautiful. I plan to pull a few other poor performers and replace them with ‘Pure and Simple’.

Pure and Simple is absolutely gorgeous! The blooms, which have great substance, are plentiful and are held well above the foliage. The color is a mixture of luscious rich shades of peach, apricot and creamy pink, hard to adequately describe, but without precedent. It is a vigorous plant, in its third year in my garden. It just makes me smile, every time I see it.

One of my first to bloom and just stunning. The photos don’t do it justice. Mine have a slight pink overtone in addition to the orange creamsickle. Just gorgeous.

Almost our first to bloom this year but, it is not simple to me. Just a beautiful color, size and form. You will never be sorry if you add this to your garden. Just wish I had room for a dozen!

I’ve had Pure & Simple for almost 5 years now. The blooms have good substance, lovely texture, beautiful ruffles, and stunning color. The petals are a melon gold with a melon midrib and the sepals are the melon color of the midrib. It is a prolific bloomer!!! The first spring I had it, it was in a 5 gallon bucket with holes punched in the bottom because I didn’t know where I wanted to plant it. I don’t remember how many fans it had at the time but it seemed to bloom forever, I think I counted 97 buds it’s first bloom cycle. It’s one of those flowers that you have to go back and take a second look at. I don’t know how many pictures I have taken of it just trying to capture the true beauty of this exceptional daylily. Buy it from Oakes and you will see what I mean!

This plant is absolutely stunning! The color is almost identical to that of an orange creamsicle. The pictures just simply do not do this plant justice! I consider it a must buy!

Pure and Simple is, well, simply gorgeous orange sherbet at it’s best. The large bloom will certainly get people’s attention, and I just stand and look at it for awhile every morning. I can’t speak for rebloom since it was planted in the summer, 2009. I’d want it even if it doesn’t rebloom. If you like this color on a plant with large blooms and nice foliage(water & a little fertilize along) grab one or more, if you can. I love it, it’s prettier in person than the picture. Oakes is the place to get it.

Pure and Simple glows a beautiful orange sherbet fading softly into a throat with a hint of yellow and green at the very base. The product image does not do this daylily justice. This was a bonus daylily that accompanied my order. Thank you Oakes!

As it’s color fades during the day it only enhances the bloom. Bloomed for me from may 24 to July 4 unusual to see a bloom this large and colorfull in May.
