HOW TO GROW DAYLILIES: Daylilies are very easy-to-grow. They like a lot of sun and they like a lot of water. For more information on how to care for daylilies, click here.
WHAT DAYLILIES CAN I GROW: Most of you can grow any of the daylilies we sell. If you live in an area with a sustained cold period like we do in East Tennessee, you can grow all the varieties. However, If you live in an area that doesn’t get freezing weather in the winter (like zones 9 and 10), dormant varieties won’t work for you; you’ll need to choose evergreen or semi-evergreen varieties.

BIG PLANTS! When it comes to daylily plants, bigger is better! All of the plants we ship will be three fans or larger — two or three times (or more) what you might receive from other companies. Larger plants get established faster and bloom more quickly!

FARM-FRESH TO YOU! All of your plants will be freshly dug when you order. The leaves are trimmed and the plants are washed and air-dried. Your daylilies will be out of the ground less than 48 hours before they’re headed your way.

BONUS DAYLILIES: We send free daylilies (we call them “bonus” daylilies) with every order. These daylilies are equal to about 20% of your order and are the same huge, healthy plants we sell. Just leave the decision up to us and we’ll pick something you’re sure to love!

ABOUT US: Oakes Daylilies is a family-owned daylily farm that’s been in business for three generations. Our daylilies grow in home gardens, city parks and botanical gardens across the nation– including Hawaii and Canada. We are known in the industry as Daylily Experts and grow over 1000 varieties of daylilies on nearly 70 acres in East Tennessee. But over 50 years ago, we started just like you—with one daylily in a home garden.

First blooms of the season in Texas, Zone 8b. This is a 2nd year plant and it has many blooms ready to open in Mid May.

    Award winner for a reason!

    Tim Clark

I love Leebea Orange Crush! It’s a super performer over a long bloom season here in southern Ohio, and the color is cheerful and bright. It grows quickly and has more than filled in the space of my three plants – even with me dividing and sharing with friends! You won’t be disappointed if you purchase this one. No wonder that it’s an award winner!

  3. Beautiful, Rich Orange Blooms!!

    Mary Catherine Trimarchi

Leebea Orange Crush is simply gorgeous! I asked for daylilies from Oakes for Mother’s Day, and my daughter chose this beauty as one of the varieties she gave to me. I had barely planted my gifts, before the scapes on Leebea Orange Crush shot up. In the photo, you can see that the top ends of the foliage are all cut, because the plant hadn’t even been in the pot for a month before it started blooming! I was really delighted, and my daughter was so surprised, as she had never seen such a fast start. That’s what you get when you buy from Oakes! I’m in Cypress, Texas, which is USDA Zone 9. We have very long, hot summers here. All my Oakes Daylilies thrive in this area, even though a heavy, clay soil is common.

Another winner!! Large, beautiful flowers that bloom for almost three weeks straight. I had to transplant them the second season, mine get much taller than 18″, they are closer to 24″-26″.

Striking color and very prolific. Planted last fall and this summer they have exploded with blooms. I have them mixed with all orange and red daylilies. Certainly a showstopping flower.

BEAUTIFUL!!! I just received this plant and it has only been in the ground 2 weeks and already has beautiful orange blooms on it! I planted it around my in ground swimming pool along with other day lilies from Oakes and it adds such a tropical look to the swimming pool area. This is my first year ordering from Oakes, and I will never order or get day lilies from anywhere else after seeing how great the plants are from Oakes. This is the BEST mail order company I have ever ordered from. You won’t be disappointed in their day lilies!

Super-pretty! This is the second year for my set of 3 plants. I should have planted them closer to the house. We can see them from out of our kitchen window and my husband likes them. Lots of blooms, started blooming early June and is just finishing up mid-July.

We have have been growing about seven bunches (each of them were three to four healthy divisions originally) of Leebea Orange Crush for about three years in Toledo, Ohio. We bought these plants from Oakes. This year (i.e. the third year) had been simply fantastic, they grew much bigger than I expected and had many large blooms. These started blooming early and are still in full blooms in mid July. Many of thems are showing some re-blooming signs with new scapes. The color is simply outstanding and many people stopped their cars or stopped their jogging to appreciate the show. Although we must admit that the color of our Persian Markets is much superior (we mean pleasant) , but the Persian Markets are not throwing out so many blooms. I have several other types of day lilies, but the Leebea Orange Crush almost excels all others. Obviously, we take care of these plants passionately. The ones around the rose bushes bloomed most, perhaps responding to the regular watering and fertilization that were actually meant for the fussy roses. Now I believe that in spite of many sources claiming that Day Lilies do not need much care, they grow much better if fertilized and watered regularly (almost like roses).

Leebea Orange Crush was the first bonus plant that I received from Oakes Daylilies, and she produced over 50 blooms that initial season. Needless to say, three more plants were acquired later that Fall. They start blooming in May, finish their second cycle in June, and proliferate rapidly in the Mississippi Delta. Simply superb!!

What a beauty. Put Leebea on borders edge – she is not very tall but will command great attention!

This is my favorite daylily. The color is a classy, striking orange, with a deeper orange-red eyezone. I planted these three months ago, and they’ve flowered like crazy. I just ordered more, along with Plum Perfect to plant in the same flowerbed. Oakes has outstanding quality daylilies, better than any other vendor I’ve purchased from.

Leebea Orange Crush has nice big blooms on short scapes. I have them in front of a garden and they really show up from a distance. I like them so much, I ordered 9 more this spring – and they already have buds!

“Orange” doesn’t describe it (more like a “blood orange”). Good producer of scapes (and I just planted it late last fall!). Shortie. Good for front of border. Stunning with “South Seas”. Highly recommend.

This could be the favorite daylily I bought last spring. The color is outstanding and the large blooms command attention. It produced many blooms even in that first year, which could be the result of such a generous plant Oakes provided. Can’t wait for the second year.

Leebea Orange Crush just bloomed this week. It has an amazing color combination. The petals are orange with a red halo. The throat is between yellow and chartreuse and the sepal tips looked dark blue in the morning. My six year old daughter noticed it and wants more in her garden.

Leebea Orange Crush is an extremely beautiful daylily that produces many large, ruffled blooms. The petals are a beautiful shade of orange with a small red eyezone. I wouldn’t be without it in my garden. I have it planted near a purple daylily and a yellow daylily which creates a very colorful scene to view. It’s an excellent daylily.
